Present Day:
The Plum Blossom Martial Arts Academy at the Dakota Community Centre

Grandmaster Wong visits the Dakota School annually, for technical correction and direction. These visits are always a treat, as Grandmaster always is positive, upbeat and encouraging to all students and teachers.
St. Vital is a classic Winnipeg suburb, complete with amenities such as coffee shops, shopping malls and gas stations. What most people don’t know however, is that tucked away on the second floor in Dakota Community Center is a bit of old San Francisco China Town. Plum Blossom Martial Arts has, over the past few years, established a significant presence in the local Dakota Community Center.
It is an interesting sight to notice students of all ages concentrating and practicing the finer points of the traditional Chinese martial arts. They are continually being challenged by a wide variety of intricate hand or traditional weapon forms. You will observe them diligently working on health and self defense skills, while respecting the discipline and focus, obtained through the teachings of Chinese Kung Fu or Yang Tai Chi.
The Dakota Community Center Plum Blossom Martial Arts School is proud to be the official Canadian representative of the Plum Blossom International Federation. We adhere to traditional teachings of the International Plum Blossom Federation and it’s founding president, Grandmaster Doc Fai Wong.
Our School’s Director, Grandmaster Wong, who was inducted into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2003, and named Inside Kung Fu Magazine’s – Instructor of the Year-2007, is a world recognized, leading authority in the arts of Choy Li Fut Kung Fu and Yang style Tai Chi.

The balance between the Internal Tai Chi arts, and the External Kung Fu arts bring Health, Balance and Challenge to all students.
Our traditional Kung Fu program offers quality instruction to children ages 6 -13.
Our Adult Kung Fu and Tai Chi programs can accommodate persons of all ages and levels physical abilities.
The “Kids & Parents Kung Fu” program is especially well-received, as parents really appreciate the many benefits of training at the same time as their children.
