The MOD Squad yearly wind up at St Vital Park was a huge success again, with a great turnout, as usual.
The Plum Blossom year end to the Kids Program is always signaled by the annual BBQ and wind up in St Vital Park. Simo Peggy, with help of senior students such Effie and Mira, did a fabulous job of organizing the venue, and effortlessy pulled off a seamless and fun filled event. Great Job!!! Thanks from all of us, that appreciate your efforts.
The wind slowed things up for a bit, as the TSN the head cook and his assistant Mr. Tu had to fashion a low tech wind screen out of tin foil, to get the heat up in the BBQ pit. Talk about being resourcefull!!! Once this was accomplished, the food was cooking fast and furiously. Sijay Anessa did a fabulous job of cooking, organizing and making sure the other cooks didnt burn anything. Anessa also treated us to the some awesome tasting sticky rice and fruit in coconut milk …..YUM! We are so lucky to have such great cooks among our midst. As usual, the quality and assortment of goodies was way over the top, and we will be working off the delicious cheesecake that Mira and Donovan brought for weeks to come.
While the cooks were busy, Tai Simo kept the kids and parents at bay playing frisbee . After the eating fest, the fun continued with games of Bocci Ball and Volleyball to work some of that food off
As for the Kids….. there was some great laughter going on with an exiting game of touch football. It was wonderful to see so much commaraderie among them and witness first hand the new and lasting friendships that were formed through out the year. Hugs were given all around as we said “see you in September” to each other. It’s time for the Kids to be Kids and enjoy the rest of the Summer.
Have fun….and be Safe everyone!
